Damai Beach Resort Kuching is a famous beach resort that situated around 45km from the City of Kuching, State Capital of Sarawak, Malaysia. The resort is sited on 90 acres of lush gardens, by the majestic Mount Santubong, facing the South China Sea.

Damai Beach Resort is located at a walking distance (about 10 minutes) from the famous Sarawak Cultural Village, South East Asia’s only “living museum”. It occupied a 7 hectare site tucked on the foothills of the legendary mount Santubong. There are 7 authentic replicas of the ethnic houses of the major tribes in Sarawak, i.e The LongHouses of Bidayuh, Iban and Orang Ulu, the Melanau Tall House, the Chinese Farm House, The Malay Stilted House and Penan Hut. You will find various arts and crafts like Kain Songket (Malay cloth with gold inner lay), Bidayuh Tambok (Bamboo Basket), Chinese ceramics etc.You will also be entertained with 45-minute daily cultural performances of songs and dances of various cultures by the 7 ethnics groups.

If you are adventure enough, just offshore are two small islands – Pulau Satang Besar and Pulau Satang Kecil. There are many Green Turtles which come ashore to Satang Besar to lay eggs, and thus it has been designated as a Turtle Sanctuary to protect those turtles.

Buntal village could be the best spot for this activity as it is an important wintering ground for migratory species.
